I have used several pairs of melton wool military trousers for outdoor work and general around-town winter wear. They were warm, comfortable, and extremely resistant to rain and snow, not to mention wind. Truly one of the best-kept secrets in outdoor cold weather wear.

What is Melton wool?
Melton wool originally came from England and has become very popular in this country because of it's long life, warmth, and ability to shed water. Melton flicks the sweat away from the body.
Melton wool is a fabric that feels very much like a velvety felt, the face of this fabric is napped. it is washable, is very warm and repels water. Most Melton's are a blend of 70% wool and 30% other, making this product particularly durable & long lasting. The pattern & style is clean and simple.
